Please join us for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Retirees' Association, at the Aladdin Shrine Center in Grove City, Ohio on Saturday, November 8th. Attendees will receive a special edition OSHPRA Anniversary license plate and our guest will be entertained by Columbus harpist Miriam Weber Brown during our evening meal. Miriam is well known in the Columbus area and beyond, playing at various social events at the Franklin Park Conservatory, the Nationwide Conference Center, and the Scioto Reserve Country Club.  Complete information and registration details can be found at OSHPRetiree.org.
With our condolences, we report the passing of former Patrolman Bradley W. Cherry of the 96th Academy Class. Bradley was also a lifelong farmer. He was a partner in Cherry’s Propane Service, Cherry’s Farm Market and Greenhouse, and Cherry’s Outdoor World. He was formerly married to Sandra Sommers.

Service and Condolence information can be found at OSHPRetiree.org.

TAKE A LOOK!  WE'VE MADE SOME CHANGES TO OUR STATE TROOPERS OF OHIO PAGE!

The State Troopers of Ohio Inc. continues to work with our legislative lobbyist from the Batchelder Company, wrapping up 2025 and preparing for 2026.  On the STO page of TroopertoTrooper.com you will find a brief overview of the challenges we've put behind us and the challenges we feel are ahead of us.  No doubt,  how much we pay our troopers will continue to be a concern, impacting the Patrol's ability to retain the current workforce and recruit qualified applicants.  As you will see in our summary, we are looking West, to the pay indexing programs instituted by the California and Washington Highway Patrol.

For our retirees, we will be working with the Ohio State Highway Patrol Retirement System to craft legislation that will allow more flexibilty when providing COLAS to our retired ranks. As we have heard from the OSHPRS COLA committee, several options are being explored.

Finally, if you are not a contributing patron to the STO, please consider signing on.  We have nearly 600 retired patrons contributing $5.00 per month and 51 retirees and friends of the patrol who've committed to giving a dollar-a-day as a Stetson Club Patron.  We also have a new Pay Pal link for one time contributions on the STO page.  As a reminder, the majority of donations received are used to pay for our lobbying efforts.  Board members receive no financial compensation or reimbursements for their volunteer work.

Help us make a difference in the future of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and your future as an active or retired member of the OSHP.
